We can’t believe that it’s already the end of another successful year. We’re taking a look back and recapping some of our highlights...
January-March
2024 got off to a flying start when Fari Bajgiran, one of our offsite construction managers, won a Euston Winning Our Way Award for his expert management of rental modules for HS2, showcasing the hard work and commitment of the Premier Modular team. Additionally, we won an Exceptional Preconstruction Service Award from Wates Group, our valued client and construction partner. We received this award for our work on Bradfields Academy, providing staff and pupils with a much-needed temporary accommodation solution at speed due to the unsafe conditions of their existing building.
As part of our pathway to Net Zero by 2035, we completed the final phase of our solar panel installation on two of our factories which will generate an expected annual yield of 1,779 kWh, improving the sustainability of our operations.
To wrap up an exciting first quarter, we welcomed our new CSR committee in March. The team got cracking right away, creating opportunities for the company to give back to the local area.
April-June
Our second quarter was a fun one for the team, with an emphasis on our new community engagement strategy.
We introduced the YuLife platform in April to enhance the wellbeing of our employees. In May, our new CSR team made a splash by organising our first ever beach clean, and in June, we sponsored Kingswood United Cyclones football club and Myton Warriors rugby club with our CEO, David Harris, putting on a stellar performance as a stand-in goalkeeper during pre-match training.
Of course, it can’t be all play and no work. We continued reaping the benefits of our hard work in June when we introduced our brand-new fleet of electric forklifts to our HQ, taking us yet another step closer to being net zero by 2035.
July-September
The summer was packed full of success for Premier Modular. We began work on Whitley Wood fire station and were also delighted to extend our longstanding relationship with Timpsons.
In the rental education sector, we celebrated two milestones this summer. We had a record-breaking year for our rental team, increasing turnover threefold compared to the previous year, providing 22,500m2 of temporary classroom space in total. We also took on our biggest rental education project to date in August: temporary accommodation measuring in at over 6,500m2
August also saw the successful transportation of the modules for a new integrated health and social care facility from Hull to the Isles of Scilly, navigating three days at sea! We employed expert logistics to meticulously plan the journey, using specialist sleeves to protect the cargo and loading the modules into the ship’s hold – in the exact order they will be installed on site. The smooth transportation of these modules is testament to our logistics and modular construction expertise.
Rounding out a hugely successful quarter, we were thrilled when 100% of our apprentices passed their courses this year. Well done!
October-December
As the end of the year approached, the awards continued to roll in, beginning with Steve Cook winning a Special Recognition Award for Supply Chain Supervision at the Morgan Sindall Supply Chain Awards in Manchester. This award celebrates his dedication, hard work and leadership on the delivery of Dixon Newall Green Academy’s rental facility and is a reflection of the strength of the wider Premier Modular team.
In recognition of all our hard work and progress made towards net zero by 2035 we were extremely pleased to win Silver in Sustainability at the National Building and Construction Awards in October.
