2023 – A year in review

We can’t believe that it’s already the end of another successful year. To celebrate, we’re taking a look back at some of our highlights from 2023.

January-March

The first quarter of the year saw impressive achievements for Premier Modular. This included completing St Peter’s 62-bed priority assessment facility in Surrey to account for the winter pressures as well as the 3,450 m2 outpatient services building at King’s College Hospital, which followed a nine-month build programme from concept to completion.

In March, Premier Modular Group launched our sister company, Net Zero Panels, which leads the charge in the reduction of embodied carbon with panelised solutions as a kit-of-parts solution.

April-June

As we moved into Spring, Premier Modular’s success continued, as it released its 2022 ESG report, sharing an integrated sustainability strategy that enabled us to be at the front of the pack for sustainability in offsite construction. Read the report here.

In May, we kicked off awards season with a bang at the MMC awards, with seven shortlists, three wins and a highly commended certificate across the Premier Modular Group, including Project of the Year, won for King’s College Hospital.

Leeds City College’s Printworks Campus opened in June, enabling an increased number of students to begin their studies in STEM in an iconic building that preserved the aesthetic appeal of the original printworks.

June also saw the completion of the Paper Yard project by the rental division. This supported the government’s drive for higher investment in life sciences with a 3,733m2 lab space with a 360m2 green roof for the next seven years.

July-Sept

Over the Summer, Premier Modular announced a new investor, MML Capital Partners, who took an equal majority shareholding with Cabot Square Capital. The investment followed a period of record growth and is set to fuel the provision of facilities more widely across the UK and Europe. The installation of The University of Exeter’s wellbeing centre was completed in September in just 2.5 days, as part of a fast-track, six-month programme to support the mental health of those studying at the university.

Oct-December

Premier Modular ended 2023 on a high as the UK’s very first modular barn theatre had its ‘topping out’ ceremony; a key event to celebrate the projects rapid progress towards providing vital facilities to reduce patient waiting lists.

In November, the company attended a host of award evenings, achieving great success as the winner of the Environmental and Sustainability Award at the Hull Live Business awards. This recognition of Premier Modular’s rigorous ESG strategy was a huge honour and reflected the company’s sustainability in projects and in the company itself.
